Name Search

Before recording an Assumed Name a search of our records should be performed to assure the owner that the name is not already in use in Brunswick County. Go to our online records. After logging in select the Combined Real Property/MAPS link to search the name.

A Certificate of Assumed Name form is filed in the county or counties where the business is operated. The Assumed Name form should be prepared by an attorney or the owner of the business. You may obtain forms by going to the Business Link North Carolina (BLNC) web site.
