Birth, Death, and Marriage Records are available through the Register Of Deeds office for persons who were born in, died in, or married in Brunswick County only.
Uncertified Copy Of Vital Record
To obtain a photocopy (uncertified) of a vital record, do one of the following:
- In person: Go to the Register Of Deeds office, Building I, at the Brunswick County Complex in Bolivia. The fee is $0.25 per copy.
- By mail: Complete and sign an Application For Uncertified Copy Of A Vital Record form. Submit form and fee to:

The mailing fee is $0.65 for the first copy and $0.25 for each add'l copy (same record)
For vital record on a person of another county, contact either that county directly, or the State Vital Records Section at:

To obtain a certified copy of a vital record, the eligible person must:

- Complete, sign, and have notarized the appropriate form:
- Submit form with proof, in person or by mail, along with:
- $10.00 fee made payable to Register Of Deeds, plus
- $15.00 fee made payable to N.C. Vital Records

- Eligible persons to complete a Birth Certificate Amendment Application form are:
- Applicant, or
- Parent or guardian of the applicant
- Eligible person to complete a Death Certificate Amendment Application form is:
- only the informant named on the Death Certificate.

Certified copies of vital records may be obtained only by eligible persons, as described below:
- Yourself
- Your spouse
- Your mother / father
- Your sister / brother
- Your child / grandchildren
- Your grandmother / grandfather
- Person seeking information for legal determination of personal or property rights (proof required).
- An authorized agent, attorney, or legal representative of the person named on the vital record.
