Brunswick County ROD

Electronic Recording

Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm

We now offer businesses and lending institutions e-recording through Internet Technologies, Inc., also known as Inttek. The hours for e-recording are 8:30am through 4:30pm Monday through Friday, except holidays. A nonrefundable convenience fee is payable to Inttek. Click here to sign up for e-recording.

While most documents (with the exception of maps) can be submitted for recording, there are special requirements with all deeds. For a deed to be accepted for e-recording, the deed must have a statement on the first page: "This instrument prepared by:____________, a licensed North Carolina attorney. Delinquent taxes, if any, to be paid by the closing attorney to the county tax collector upon disbursement of closing proceeds." Review the requirements here.

All e-recordings must have the statement: "Submitted electronically by ___ (submitter's name) in compliance with North Carolina statutes governing recordable documents and the terms of the submitter agreement with the Brunswick County Register of Deeds." Please see G.S. 47-14(a1) for requirements under Verification of Electronic Documents.

All other local and state recording requirements must also be met and in addition to the convenience fee, all regular recording fees apply.

Current pricing schedule is as follows: Credit card and PayPal transactions have a fee of 6% of the total cost of the document, plus $0.50. ACH transfers into escrow have a fee of 2.5% of the amount being placed into escrow.

If you have any questions or concerns with setting up an e-recording account, please email Inttek here.
